Husky Shield Headlite Guard - Thoughts?

I was on Husky's site looking at their cargo liner when I saw they sell a 'Headlite Shield' for the front lights.

It looks like the Zagg product that you can use to protect all of your electronics from damage. I was curious what people think of this? What would it prevent damage from? Would a rock still be able to damage it? Would it cut down on the brightness, etc.? They do not give ANY information on the product, just shows a diagram of the design.

I think those films work pretty good. They've saved the front end of the last two cars I've owned from chips and I haven't cracked a headlight yet. Make sure you don't get a cheap film though.

I have mixed feelings on this kind of stuff. I used some on my old car from a reputable vendor (not Husky). It ended up leaving a haze on my headlight covers which I never could get rid of. I did not add them to my second vehicle and they were fine (no damage)

The huskys are probably ok though, I checked them out and may pick some up if I can find a positive review from someone on this site
