HVAC experts - need some help

Hey All, I have gone through all the HVAC threads and looked for something I may be missing. I need to ask you all if I am missing something obvious before I take my 4R into the stealer.

I took the advice of some on the thread and just set the HVAC controls to Auto - with Air on instead of manual. Here's my problem if I set the temp to anything other than LOW it sends out heat and a lot of it. Even if the outside temp is 80 degrees and I set it to 65 the lowest setting before Low it heats instead of cooling. I have also set it to 65 when the outside temp is lower say 50 degrees and it works like normal expect the fans never slow down and the inside cabin temp measures 85 degrees. And is shows no sign of decreasing the fan automatically from high.

Any Ideas? I noticed this mainly after I had a Satellite radio and a Viper Auto starter security system installed. And I am wondering if maybe a temp sensor was unplugged by accident or something else.

Bottom line I am assuming if it is 80 degrees out side (cabin measuring 80 as well) and I have the auto feature on with air light on then it should be cooling if I have the temp set to 65.

Thanks!

Yep it should be cooling! It's an '06 take it back to the installer and see what he messed up. ;):

Speaking from my own experience with my 04, when I installed my Scion HU I forgot to reattach a hose, which I believe is the sensor for the AC, and my AC did the same thing. The hose is located, on my 04, on the underside of the dash about where your right knee would be positioned. From the outside it will look just like a small vent. Point it out to the installer and make sure they hook it back up, if that is the cuplrit. I hope this helps.

Thanks sfla4runner

I will take a look, I remember someone on this site saying they had the same problem, so I was hoping this thread may spark someone to tell me where to look to see if something is unplugged.

I think there was a thread were someone took a photo of a plug/harness that was not plugged in and asked what it was...I have been searching for that thread.
