HVAC Fan

I have a problem with my 2004 HVAC Fan. It is making a horrible noise sometimes.
Here is a link were I made a video of the noise https://youtu.be/x7Qnsj3fDSs

Seems like I may have to replace it? Does any one have any links on replacement procedures?

I just found this video- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HCUG2bI5uYc

I just replaced the fan in my dad's 07 Tacoma for him a couple weeks ago. It literally took maybe 2-3 minutes to swap out.

Looking under the dash of the 4runner though, there appears to be some kind of plastic trim cover plate in the way that might add a step or two.

The Tacoma process was as follows:
1.Unplug harness
2.press in tabs/clip that attach the harness to the fan
3.Remove 3 8mm bolts
4.Old fan will drop down from housing
5.Install new fan in reverse order.

The 4runner will probably have an extra step as I mentioned before. I didn't have to remove the glovebox or any other trim on the Tacoma.

Check your cabin air filter first. This time of year little hairy things are looking for a place to winter. Fans wills usually start making slight noises first. If this just happened, look for a stowaway with a tail.

Decided on the FOUR SEASONS from rock auto for 39.00. I'll see how that goes.

I had to replace mine recently too, because of a furry tailed vagrant trying to make my runner his new home. Replacing the fan wasn't too hard except for the bolt closest to the firewall. That was a booger for me.

On a side note, You may want to install a squirrel-proof mesh cover at the air inlet. I have pics in another post that I started about this very thing.
