Never though it would happen to me but driving home tonight literally 5 minutes ago, i about lost my 4runner. i was driving straight down the road in some decent rain when i got to thinking "if i ever was to wreck my 4runner would i get another one of what else would i get" when all of a sudden my 4runner turns to the left and goes over into the next lane and into the side of the road. luckily for me it was all grass and i just got jerked and bumped around. the scary part was that i could have easily went into a tree but turned the 4runner back toward the road. i know your not supposed to use the brakes but it happened so quick my reaction was to hit them and then steer as quickly as i could away from those trees.

it was pretty scary, sorry i just figured i would share this with you guys to be careful!

The outcome could have been much different with a tree in the equation. I'm sure this will keep you more alert for a long while.

Glad you came out of it safe and sound.

probably do but i want get any until Christmas.

and believe me i was pretty close to some trees. i guess its about 10 yards of grass next to the road and then its a straight line of nothin but trees. actually near the same spot is a cross on a tree, i'm guessing where someone else wasn't so lucky....
 
Ok so since we are on the topic of almost dieing i was driving on the highway one day and this Semi was going slow in the right lane because he had a big load.. So like anyone would do i get into the left lane and hit the gas to pass him. Well as i did this i got about half way up the side of his trailer then all of a sudden he gets closer and closer and closer... I was in his blind spot... The concrete median was on the left and the huge Semi was on the right about to smash me... So i laid on the horn and slammed on the brakes.. He jerked back over to the right lane and i floored it and went past him. Now thats scary seeing something like 5 times your size about to crush you like a tree... haha
 
glad to see you and the rig are okay at least. it looks like in your sig you have aftermarket tails, wouldn't by chance have the oems laying around would you? cause if they're the crystal ones i'll take them off your hands
 
not anymore sorry, i gave them to a friend who had the old 97 ones. i wish i still had them though. i myself have grown old of the "altezza" look.
 
How many miles do you have on your TGs,I've got almost 40k on mine and I've noticed in heavy rain of the highway i've been getting a little hydro action at around 60ish and this is with a pretty good downpour but as far as resistance to hydroplaning TGs are still the best tire in my experiences if you still need a solid DD tire that can handle a fair amount of off road abuse.
 
i was on the highway couple of days ago, doing about 130, and it was raining really hard. one part of the highway had sort of a big long puddle of water. i started hydroplaning, no reaction at all, and about only a second later, i was back in control. but that second, i felt like i shit out my heart. i REALLY need new tires
 
Yea um 130 in a 4runner.... ?? i dunno about that.. Mine only goes like 115 down a hill haha on a dry highway with no one around so i dont hurt anyone else if i crashed. It would be my fault.
 
man that dosnt sound right, ive gone 140 in a BMW M5 (i think it was an M5) and that was insane

edit yes it was an m5 but a 4runner! thats not right
