Hello Guys.

I have been reading your posts for sometime now.

Reading how much fun you all are having and knowing how bad I have always wanted to own a 4runner, I finally decided to take the plunge but not quite yet:

I have been driving a few dealers crazy until I decided to go with one who seemed to be more felxible than the other dealers. I am seriously considering a:

4Ruuner 4x4 V6 SE 2005 Titanuim with these options:

50 State Emissions
Sport package,
Extra Mile option Package A
Cargo Net
Nightvision Mirror Upgrade
First Aid Kit
Fabric Guard
Carpet Mat Set
Rear Cargo Mat
Security System Upgrade
Custom tape Stripe
7 Pin to 4 Pin Converter
Wheel Locks
Road Hazard Tire Warranty (3 years/36,000.00 Miles)
Extra Mile Extended Life Tires (6 years/ 100,000.00 Miles)
Vehicle Shield Package
Leather Interior Upgrade
Molded Dash Applique
Stainless Steel Door Sill Enhancement
Rear Spoiler
Vehicle Fueling
115V AC Power Point

I wish I could also have:

JBL Synthesis 3-in-1 Stereo w/6-Disc Changer
Heated Power front Seats

But the dealer said SR5's and SE's do not come with those options... I would have to upgrade to a limited for $6000.00 more.

Ater a couple of months of negotiations and a few hundred phone calls and phone tags with the dealer, they finally brought the price down from their original "great deal" 35,200.00 to the lowest they said they would go:

$33K D.O. (Drive Out)

Is this a good deal?

I live in a Big city and do about 50-60 miles of combined HWY and City traffic driving/day. I will be using this car for everything; grocery, driving to work, weekend get-aways etc....

I have never done any off-roading but I don't mind taking a weekend off every couple of months and expereince the joy of some light off roading...

It never snows where I live but we get lots of rain all year long.
I am planning on driving to Colorado and New Mexico to ski this year though.

I am single, I have no kids and no need for a thrid row seat. I rarely tow anything, but I might be moving to a new home in six months. I think it's nice to know your car can tow a lot when you need it.

Will a V6 SE 4x4 satisfy my needs?
Should I wait for a V8 SE 4x4? and why?

Will I have any regrets if I don't get a V8 or a limitted (V8 or V6)?

I know I have too many questions. Sometimes I think maybe it's just me and nobody goes through this process when purchasing a new car.

I would appreciate any input.

Thanks guys!

V.

You are not the only one. Believe me, when I am looking for a car, I have many questions. I also correct the salesmen when I know they are wrong. For your questions, you are getting a 4Runner, what is there to regret? The V6 should do fine for your needs. Though the V8 can tow more and is more powerful, do you want full time 4WD (V8) or mult-mode (V6)? Also, the new V6's have the 5 speed transmissions, which will be smoother than the previous 4 speed transmission. I know power heated seats are not available on an SR5 and Sport, but is it worth the extra $6,000 for only that? I like leather seats better but in my region, you can't get that on a sport. I say stick with the Sport because it sounds like a good deal. My V8 sport was around $35,000, but not as loaded as yours. I think for your type of driving, a V6 will definitely do. Whatever you get, you will definitely not regret it!! Good luck!
