I bought replacement light how do I remove the bezel

Like the title says I bought some replacment bulbs for the climate contols. Before I go pulling on it is there anything I should know so I do not damage it. I know alot of you guys have replaced the decks in these but I could not find any thread that gave instructions on how to remove the bezel. I have a 2004 4runner sport. Thanks for any info.

I know somewhere there is a posting (with pics) that show how to take it out. Replaced a few bulbs on mine recently and had no problems.

Remove the trash container under the controls by pulling up while it's open. Then look under the heater controls and you will see a bolt. remove the bolt and pull out carefully from the bottom to release the clips holding the heater controls. Just keep pulling until the whole thing is out and you will see some wires going to a plug. Unplug this and you can work on the unit comfortably.

Remove the trash container under the controls by pulling up while it's open. Just keep pulling until the whole thing is out and you will see some wires going to a plug. Unplug this and you can work on the unit comfortably.

Thanks for the info. So there is just one bolt and bunch of clips holding the bezel on. I am going to replace the bulbs today.

How much did the bulbs cost?

Yes, one bolt at the bottom of the controls, toward the driver's side, hidden by the little flip out storage door.
Open the storage door, then pull up on both ends to remove, held by clip pressure.
Now remove the bolt (10mm socket or large Phillips head.)
Now pull forcfully straight back on the bottom ridge of the unit, held by 2 clips on the bottom and 2 clips on top. Once the bottom is loose, gently pull staight back on the top, a little tricky but once it's partially loose you'll see how it's held.

I paid $6.77 each for those little bas****s. I was supposed to get them on Friday after I ordered them on Thursday but now I am being told that I wont get them until the 12th of Feb. Oh well, at least I will be able to see the arrows once I replace them.

Thanks for the info. I spent 8 hours detailing the ford to sell it so I only got as far pulling out the bottom cubby. I might try to install the lights tonight. I am assuming you can get to HU as well when this bezel is removed. I orderd a nav unit out of a 2007 solara on ebay and it should be to me on wednesday. So my next project will be the LED mod.

My arrows work, I ordered the bulbs for the text beside the arrows. but in the pics I saw in another thread it looked like only one bulb per knob (the three for the climate controls).
