I used some shallow unistrut, the Yakima bars from my Subaru rack, and some cush clamps to make a very easily adustable roof rack. The unistrut runs the length of the roof and is fastened down using the factory torx bolts. I bent each rail into a U so that the bars can be mounted parallel to the rails when they're not being used. The cush clamps are fastened with a 7/16" nylock nut so the bars can be moved from parallel to perpendicular in about 4 minutes.
The unistrut was ~$20 a length and the cush clamps were ~$11 for four. I plan to spray paint the rails with truck bed liner so they don't rust, as well as fasten down the two small bends that make the U. The cush clamps shouldn't rust as they're designed for outdoor use (I'm a refrigeration mechanic and we use them for clamping copper pipe down inside and outside).
