I clicked 4th Gen T4Rs for the first time today

I had a 3rd gen until some drunk crashed into me and I rolled 9 times going 70mph.

Now I have a 4th gen. 2008 SR5 115k, cleanest car I've owned. Thanks for all your great write ups here, I'm excited to join your community! I'm hoping someone could point me to someone who has built a 50/50 street queen/offroad lift/tires that can be done through a mechanic for a fair price. Basically the biggest lift before there is dif drops and new UCA etc. I currently live in an apartment and don't have access to tools. Although I have been known to change my radiator laying in the street. =/

I'm %50 excited %50 dreading starting over again.

I'd drive it around for a while before you change anything...
You may find out it's just ok in stock form or would be ok with some good all terrain tires (maybe one size up).
If anything probably the most popular, mild lift is Bilstein 5100's with moog/fj coils, see the sticky on that.

Thanks man, I'll look into it. I read through the stickies and at a certain point I just get overwhelmed with options, not to mention its all greek to me. Then begins the friendly debates and I don't know what to think =P

You know the saying "metal can be replaced," glad your old truck kept you safe.

Driveline clunk = needs grease. You can do that anywhere!

I think it's more on the 'lurch' spectrum. The truck jolts forward a bit. I can see the engine roll a bit too when the hood is popped. I was thinking a broken engine mount but I can't see anything wrong. I'll grease the ujoint anyways.

After seeing the picture of the 9 summersaults, looks like you came out of it ok, truck looks pretty good for that many flips I might say.

I would drive it awhile, check others out also before making any MOD changes, can get expensive, especially if you decide to go another direction later.

Also, grease the yokes, this is where the clunk/lurching is coming from.

Rolled 9 times?! I'm glad you're ok. Your new 4 Runner looks great. I'm in the same boat as you. I just got a stock 4 Runner and I'm trying to decided what to do (if anything) to it.

How far North are you in the PNW? Judging from the foliage at the wrecking yard I'd guess quite a bit farther north than me.

I'm in the same boat for a lift right now. I'm leaning towards OME lift springs and billstein struts/shocks for about 2-3"s of lift. Still going back and forth though.
