I Dislike 4WheelParts rant

I bought some cheap shocks awhile back for my 4runner and about once a week I receive a small catalog with specials. 90% of that damn catalog is for jeeps. WTF! You(4wheelparts) know I bought Toyota parts and you have my vehicle in your computer system so why must you send me jeep catalogs! Back in the day Performace Products use to send out a Toyota only catalog, why can't companies have make or model specific catalogs. I know its cheaper to make one big one but I don't care if jeep soft tops are 30% off. All the Toyota specific, parts companies should get together and put out a catalog. I'd pay for it if it had a good amount of products. Anyways, time to take out the recycling.

Trust me, You are not the only member on here who dislikes 4wp For way more than the catalog. I Strongly recommend throwing any of their ads away because they may suck you in. I have had issues with getting an arb bumper with a smashed in light hoop, Brian2sun has had about 10 trips to 4wp for issues, Driffter has had issues with stuff from there. its non stop problems

i 100% agree with you... the sad part is, 4wheel parts bought out performance products a few years back... along with smitty built, rubicon express and a bunch of other companies only to send everything over to china and have number increased and qualities decreased ect... 4wheel parts is a cheep store. i only buy from them if i have to. they are a good place to get specific brand name items such as ARB and WARN who have not been bought out and out sourced... i avoid 4wheel parts like the plague...
 
Sadly I couldn't find anyone in my neck of the woods to weld on my Rock Sliders except 4wheelparts.
I have never bought anything from them so cant comment on that but what they charged to just weld on my Trail Gear Rock Sliders should be considered criminal.
I most certainly will not ever be going back there for anything.

where do you live and how much did they charge you...?
 
On the other side of the fence.... I have bought an ARB bumper, 2 sets of tires, a snatch strap and a tire pressure gauge from 4WPs, all at different times. I have never had any issues at all and always got a good price using discount coupons on the internet. I never been into an actual store as the nearest one is a 4 hr drive. No, I don't work there nor do I know anyone there, but they've been good to me.

I agree with you, I bought my gears for my Tacoma from 4WP and they hooked me up big time and everything was right but thats the only time I've purchased from them.

The majority of the people at the Raleigh store are nothing more than trash. If you don't drive a Jeep, in their opinions, you deserve to rot in hell. And from what I've noticed the people who perform service on vehicles are no more than glorified idiots.

I agree with the whole owning a Jeep thing. I went in there asking about Daystar spacers on my first 4runner and they blew me off to help a guy who I watched pull up after me in his Jeep.
 
They are horrible!!

They are arrogant...and some of them don't wheel, so they don't even know what they are talking about.
 
I'm very pleased with the Salt Lake store. I would say they have a great reputation around here. Always busy and always have stock.

I've bought all of my recovery gear from 4wheelparts and plan to buy more in the future.

Before I purchased my Bilsteins, I had to call for clarification on a part number. The salesman told me that he would conclude the deal on the phone and extended me a $20 discount for buying "online."

The Jeep thing is a non issue to me.

I hear ya about the catalog not being taylored to your needs. I work for a big box retailer in Dallas that has stores all over the states. I can tell you from direct experience. The print business (catalogs) is a thing of the past. It will not be too long before you will not even get catalogs at all.

The only places that may continue to ship them to you would be very specialized retailers. My only suggestion to you and the other guys | gals. If you get a catalog for Jeep crud. Look on their site for the stuff you do want and see if they will offer the same type of deals for the items you need. You will be surprised at how quickly a good retailer will take your offer on the spot.

On the other hand, save the catalog for the fireplace for the winter!

I actually drove 3 hours from VA to that store because they had ARB fridge/freezers on sale for $700. I had no problems whatsoever but did notice every vehicle in the parking lot was a jeep. We were getting ready to leave and some old lady in a jeep nearly took my passenger side door off because she was on the phone. I have heard some horror stories from various people but my experience wasn't bad.
 
I usually go to the one here in Thousand Oaks Ca and I have never had a problem with them. I ordered recovery gear, lights, and tires. That is about it. They do have a lot of Mall crawler jeep stuff though. If you are really serious about wheeling your jeep, you are not going to be going to 4WP to buy some Skyjacker or Full Traction lift kit. If I have to get something quick, I will go there (I mean, who can turn down buy three tires get the fourth free!lol)But if I wanted quality parts for my vehicle, as with most cases, the internet is where is is at.

I understand that they have only so much space to put products in print but their website is terrible too. I've been looking for some cheap shocks and every time i go on the website they don't offer what I'm looking for and it so un-organized. 4WP needs a lot of work
 
4wheelfarts farted on my front locker install and it took them 4 tries to get it right. They finally just had to get a guy from ARB to come down there and show them how to do it right. It was pretty crappy since I live 50 miles away. When it was all said and done, I put in a 400 mile road trip for those asshats and they didn't even give me a fricken coupon for my troubles. So now I don't feel bad telling people that they are a joke. Not to mention I had to spoon feed them part numbers for my locker and bearing kit because Toyota is Chinese to them and they were going to order the stuff for a different diff. Ok, sorry, rant off.
