i drilled a hole in my 4runner.

i know it sounds crazy, but drilled a hole in my fenders. i did this because i recenlty installed side markers.
The project cost me about $25.
sidemarkers = $20
spray panit = $3
adhesive = $1
and gdodnam VA tax

1. first i taped off the area that i wanted to put the markers.
2. i measured 4" down from the pinstrip and 4" to the left of the door seem.
3.where the two lines crossed was my bottom left reference point for the markers.
4. then i outlined the marker as it sat in the drawn box i made with the 4"x4" dimensions.
5. i marked the centerpoint with a pen, then i drilled theat center point until the side marker fit.
6. i took the tape off and painted the hole with spray paint o prevent rusting.
7.then i placed the marker back in the hole and screwed it in with the holes and screws provided in the package.
8. i put the cap back on with glue and i called it a day.
i will post some pictures when i get a new camera, i just don't have the money right now for some reason.

where and how much did you get the overfenders!!!!!

i got the overfenders and grille from burtman. i paid $1000 for both, then about another $50 for shipping. i am running 285/75/16. it was worth every penny. i have had about ten random people ask me what kind of vehicle it is. and they are shocked at the answer.

Very nice looking rig you have. This might sound dumb but are the called over fenders because they go over the stock fender flares? Or do you replace the stock ones? How hard was it to do? You should post some pics in the gallery, I would like to see more of it.

it goes directly over the stock. all you do is remove the existing bolts in wheel well and place the fender over ensuring that you have put the doublesided tape on the upper portion and line up the predrilled holes on the lower portion. then screw back all of the bolt you took out 2 seconds ago. then you are done. 2 person install took about 30 minutes. the hardest part was putting on the rubber trim on the upper portion of the flare. some of it didn't fit, but after some oven treatment it works. if you decide to get the fenders, i can assist you in installation. search for another thread of mine for more pictures. late.

They look like JDM.
monostereo have you notice different light pattern? If it's JDM, you should, they have different hand drive.

no none of the lights are jdm, i just did what iforce did and it turned out fine. the jdm headlights have a clear triangular reflector and the oem has an amber one. i have not noticed a difference in the way the light hits, but the thing that i do notice is that other 4runners kind of swurve in and out of lanes while checking out the ride. the only things that is jdm are the flares and the grille. thanks for the compliments - late.

I was interested in getting these fender flares, I wanted to know if you have any clearance iissues wiht the 33's.Would you be able to take a couple of pics right where the mud flap bolts into(thats where i rub).

what size are yor rims height/width/offset.

i had a lot of trouble with rubbing, more like grinding. after i trimmed off some inside the oem flare a bit it was ok, then i had to take off all of the mud flaps and install new ones that were thinner. i got the flares about two weeks later and i had to trim the same as the oem flares. if you are going to baby your ride i would not suggest getting bigger tires. the over fenders fit right over the oem ones and it bolts on where the stock bolts are in the wheel well. the new flares won't rub if it doesn'r rub already. there is no difference inside the wheel well, just on the outside. well if you have any more questions let me know. don't bother doing a search, the only other guys that have flares are the 215 dudes. my size is 285/75/16. i would seriously consider getting 285/70/16. i am using 4.5 backspacing and 0 offset. hope this helps - late.

THANKS man !!! I have some rubbing now with my 185/70/17 w/4in lift. I have really been interested in fender flares. I am ordering a body lift for the rubbing. I just didn't want to buy brand new flares and start hacking them to pieces(lol). I just wanted to know for sure...

yeah your rims look good, I wanted to know the width of your rims is it 8, 9, or 10in wide.

Are the front flares one piece? So, if i wanted to take off my front bumper, do I have to take off the flares too?(if so, I have to order my jdm headlights at the same time)
