I just thought I'd get the opinions of my pals here before I decide for sure between the used 07 (V6 SR5), used 06 (V8 Sport), and now these two other options.
A dealership in California (I will be there next week on vacation anyway and could drive one back) has a brand new leftover 2007 SR5 with a V8. It comes with all of the usual options for that model, plus it is 4x4. They want $27,400 plus TTL. Sticker is $33,000 something. Does that seem fair, or should I try to work them down a ways? That price includes a $2000 rebate built into the total. It is the color I like (galactic gray) with the interior color I like (galactic gray).
They also have a few 4x4 SR5's that are 2008's with V6 and usual options. They are silver and cost $26,000 plus TTL. That 4R stickers at $31,000 and some change and price also includes the rebate.
Basically I am wondering if the V8 will make up the difference in resale value or if that will actually hurt in this day and age. As I said in my other thread, my commute is short (about 4 miles), and I will only be going longer distances if I am going up in the mountains or going on one trip a year (although my wife has a Pilot that she prefers to take on road trips no matter what I'm driving!).
