I got a clickity Clackity noise coming from rear diff area

I dont see what it is, it stops when the vehicle stops and then increases speed as I roll. Any ideas on what to look for? I may have to take it in to a pro.

Yeah you might have lost a tooth on your pinion. Try changing the diff oil before you spend money on a pro.

Have you checked to make sure something in the parking brake drums isn't loose?

I know this is wishful thinking on my part for you but worth checking.

Does it make the same or similar sound in reverse?

It sounds stupid, but make sure your parking brake isn't on because it starts clicking/popping real loud. Almost gave myself a heart attack yesterday thinking my diff somehow grenaded.

I hate pedal operated parking brakes with a passion that burns deep in my loins.

Thanks for the responses. Im going to check it out further tonight, and test it in reverse. Im hoping that it is a an air line for the air bags that is rubbing up against the drive shaft. I will update when I investigate further.

You know what? My parking brake made that sound when I broke it changin the rear drums. Might be that.
