I have a 2004 Runner and the center diff light is coming on while driving in 2nd. I had to replace the actuator seals this week. Had terrible time with that. Finally got it work correctly and today I actually drove it some distance. I drove about 20 miles and got off the freeway, only to have the diff light come on, when I got off the freeway. Got underneath to check if the actuator was making noises or grinding. Nothing. Did the 4lo, center diff lock and unlock thing. Light went out. Shut it off and go into the store. Come out and start driving, only for it to come back on. Went through this about 5 times on the way home.
What is causing this and is it causing damage? I have to drive from LA to Las Vegas for work tomorrow.
