I got motivated...this is what happened..

I wanted to do my valance and grill today and nothing went as planned. I got the bumper off with the valance still attached, but the bolts and receiving tabs did not want to cooperate whatsoever. When I turned the bolt the tabs would screw up the valance. I got to looking at it and decided screw it, I am going to get a new one, this one is warped and I found a crack too.

Toyota Dealership wanted $230 for a new one! But I found one on ebay for 36 bucks free shipping.

So I started to do the grill, taped it off and did the center only. It looked great!! Then I start looking at the chrome on the grill and it is all scratched and marred up. I didn't like only half of the grill looking like new, so I decided to just paint the whole thing. But now I hate it. I liked the chrome better.

I am going to keep the chrome trim, because it will go nice with the Pro Comp rims I am going to get. So now I am going to search for a new grill.

well if you want spray paint is very easily sand off with wet high grit sand paper but at this point i would just get a new grill or do the satoshi mod which will make your truck look much nicer imo

I used spray on bed liner too...and I was suprised at how easily the front bumper and grill came off...the rear bumper gave me a tough time and trying to get it back on was even worse the damn thing didnt want to line back up...

I'm with you on that. Had the exact same problem. Front bumper, grill, piece of cake. Back bumper, first the bracket the holds the side piece on didn't want to come off so I had to remove the piece from the bumper. Then the pieces themselves didn't want to go back where they came from. I still swear my bumper use to be alittle higher but could not figure out how to pull it up.

There's a thread about that 'round here somewhere. I'm currently waiting on parts to replace the lower control arm bushings and cv shafts. Better not get here 'til after the heat breaks....105 today, bleh. At least this job'll be easier than the clutch, stupid heavy tranny/transfer case! My 96 ain't stock but it's no beastie, either.
