Finally had the chance for a full detail. Took a couple of evenings last week.

-Wash w/ mothers gold
-clay w/ meguiars, wiping off the 'detailer' lube as I worked
-scratchX, mostly under the door handles
-paint cleaner (meguiars step 1) applied with 10" random orbit buffer
-polished twice (meguiars step 2)
-meguiars gold class wax

Good results!

something no one knows - I only washed then waxed the roof. Yup, cutting corners...

This is a strange phenomena for which I have no answer. In my case, buying used, I automatically assign all blame to the previous owner. However, consider this: a friend leases a brand new vibe. He virtually never ever uses the rear seat, and therefore the rear doors. BUT even *his* door handle areas are all scratched up. What gives?

can anyone attest to scratchX ? I have 2 6" hairline scratches on my 07 SE (shadow mica ) and worst part of it is i think the dealer did that and tried to cover it up with polish but the rain swept it away

You just paidhow many thousands of dollars for a vehicle you expect to be in perfect shape... (depending on how long ago it was purchased) I'd be going backto the stealership and asking for some answers... (sorry, I have no useful info on scratchX)

Its going to be a losing battle for me, let me tell you why. I bought the vehicle, went away for two weeks with the car sitting on the driveway, came back and noticed the scratches. I can try and argue but I know i have too many holes, + I paid a lot less than the edmunds TMV for an 07 SE V6 4x4.

Scratch-X does work on fine scratches and scuffs (paint transfer, but your finish isn't damaged just marked). The door handle ones, if they're not deep it will work. Follow the directions on the tube. If the scratches are still visible, I would recommend giving it a second application, but do not rub harder.
