i guess i lucked out!

so when i was putting on my lift i got a little angry with my drivers side upper ball joint since it didnt want to break loose:gun4: and i ended up hitting the top where the threads are(knowing it wasnt smart) so needless to say the nut would not go back on right..so i put a couple washers in and drove it for about a month then when i checked it it was only finger tight..since i work 6 days a week i had to get it fixed quick so unfortunately i had to take it to a shop. when i got it back after a 300 dollar bill!! after a day i noticed my cv axle boot was slinging grease bad so i took it back and he called me this morning and said they are going to put me in a brand new cv axle free of charge due to their mistake :dancin: so i would say i came out pretty good huh? $300=new upper ball joint and new cv axle installed :bigok:

I did the exact same thing putting on my lift!!! Down to the knowing it wasn't smart and everything. I went to Kragen and got a 3/4 nut, used a die kit to smooth out the bolt, and haven't had any problems with it coming loose.

yea well i had that idea too but i didnt know anyone with a die kit or know how to use one and i waited so long i had to do something right then cause i couldnt get the nut to thread at all anymore and had to work the next morning

I did a 3" Toytec Spacer lift in the front of mine, and I didn't mess around with my balljoints???? Why did you guys disconnect your balljoints? I used a large prybar to lower the lower suspension arms down enough to wiggle the lower bolt out of the strut mount. Then removed the 3 nuts on the top of the strut assembly and pulled it all out......assembly was reverse.

Should I have removed the balljoints? It's been over 3000 miles since the install, and not problems with the lift????

No, the problem was that WE DID mess with our balljoints. I ended up not getting mine out. Now I know to leave it alone.
