I guess they don't want to sell stuff???

So, a little over year ago, I bought a set of 4 Wheels and Tires from a NAPA in my hometown. Now I want to buy a matching spare tire, and they are giving me the runaround!!!

My first contact there, a guy I've been talking to since my initial purchase, told me he would get me another wheel and tire combo for a smoking deal, but then wouldn't take my phone calls when I was ready to buy????

The 2nd guy, kept telling me different stuff. 1st, they don't make my rim in a 16".....TOO BAD I ALREADY HAVE 4 OF THEM! When I told him that he was incorrect, as I already had 4......he told me that the supplier misinformed him. The 2nd time I talked to that guy, he told me that he found my rim in 16" but now he and the supplier were fighting over the price????? After that, he just stopped taking my calls, and I decided to look elsewhere!

I guess these guys are afraid to make a little money???? Lucky for me, another guy from another NAPA, offered to help me out, and after I save a little more cash, he's going to get me the same wheel and tire combo from his store........

I'll tell you this much, I've said nothing but good things about the first mentionned NAPA since getting my initial stuff from them....but now.........I wouldn't recommend them to anybody....their customer service is THE PITS! FTW!

I have found the inconsistency in my area as well and not just with Napa. I was shocked to see a $10 difference in price going 1 mile to another Autozone in my area when the first didn't have in stock.

i dont know much, ok, nothing about the economy in the great white north but here's my take: not only is it not just that store, or even not just napa, but i bet its everywhere. In my business (large eqpt rental company) my greedy corporate dictators have made so many cutbacks in personnel, facilities, so on and so forth, that quite frankly we are trying to do more with so much less in terms of resources, at the end of the day its the customer who suffers. It kills me because im on the front line of it all with the customers, but at the end of the day i just have to throw my arms up and realize there is only so much i can do. these were/are my company's decisions and not mine. i know times are tough and all but i feel they are taking advantage of the situation and taking it too far. Whats funny is they pretend in their ivory castle's that everything is hunky dory and heaven forbid they ever hear about an unhappy customer. Did i mention morale? pissed on employees dont tend to be all that productive. anyways ill get off my box. Sucks to hear that about Napa. When you pay top dollar you kind of expect service to go with it.

You know what, if it were that, I could even understand! I work in the Grocery Retail world. In fact, the company I work for, is the largest Grocery Retailer in Canada. I know what you mean about cut backs, staffing, and extra workload on staff to compensate for lack of hours given for staffing a store.

The problem is, I think there is more to it. I've been in that store many times, often finding them just standing around, talking about whatever with eachother. The other thing, I think that they decided that they didn't want to give me that killer deal anymore, probably because they changed suppliers or something, couldn't get it at as low a cost and just decided to brush me off, hoping I'd go somewhere else.

I don't know for sure, but these are my thoughts.....

I'll tell you this much, I shop there again! And when I do get my wheel and tire combo.....I'll go over to the store....and tell them: THANKS FOR NOTHING! A$$ HOLES!

Your local NAPA is a mismanaged mess. It takes a special kind of person to enjoy going to most NAPAs as the dudes working there tend to think they are walking parts encyclopedias and god's gift to DIY auto repair, and make sure that you know it when you leave the store.
If those dudes are being cocks, take your money elsewhere. They'll be out of business or under new management in short order if that kind of customer service continues.
