I HATE MY 4RUNNER!!!!..............(Sometimes)

I have an '04 V8 4runner sport that's had a leaky rear output oil seal in the transfer case so a couple weeks ago I ordered the parts I need to replace it. Today was the day.

I removed the old one, destroying it in the process of course and that's when I realized they sent me the wrong one to replace it. Worse, every place I looked online came back with the wrong one too. Since my 4runner is my only vehicle at the moment I was screwed.

Luckily the guy working at our local Orielly's auto is one persistent guy. I left him my phone# and he looked through their entire inventory and eventually found the right part. It was listed under a different trim model & year. Figures, that's the 4th. or 5th. time that's happened with my 4runner and it's enough to make me want to rip all my (remaining) hair out.

Here are the pic's of the old oil seal vs. the (wrong) new ones. BTW, the part number for the right part (I hope) is #710141 at Oriellys auto parts-it had to be sent down from a warehouse so I'll post here in a couple days when I get it & report how it goes in case anyone else here encounters this:

Pic's of the old one. The wrong new one measured 2.330" dia x .430" thick:

Toyota doesn't sell them I assume?

I ordered OEM parts. The problem it seems was that the seal on the rear output shaft is a little different than the front output shaft. When I went to order the seal I needed there was no specifying which seal I needed, they were all simply called "transfer case output shaft oil seal" and they'll send you the wrong one of course.
