I have a motor/transmission question!!! help please!!!

ok so i am about to pull my motor out and put in a rebuilt one. its a 2.4 backed by a 5 speed. my uncle is in need of a motor so i was gonna give him mine. he has an auto transmission in his and was told by his "machanic" that he would have to find an engine from truck with an automatic.

i thought all the 2.4's were the same??? i thought that the only difference was the flex plate for the auto and the flywheel for the 5 speed. am i wrong or is my uncles machanic right???

if im wrong what would it take to make my motor work for him?

As far as i know they are the same, at least with the 3.0's the motor's are the same. I didn't have to change anything out. People do 5 speed swap's all the time and keep there automatic motor.
 
well see this is the opposite of that but same basic theory. i figured it was the same but my uncle was leary of it
 
i'm not positive about 2.4's, but i just finished taking my auto out of my 3 slow and putting in a 5spd from another 3 slow and everything was bolt on. i would assume that the 2.4 would be the same situation
