hey everyone,
i just wanted to introduce myself. the forum is awesome and im sure i'll soak up alot of useful info here (i just finally found out what a locker is) im from south florida (expains the lack of locker knowledge) and i work as a car dealer rep. that allows me to go to auctions and buy cars for the dealership as well as personally and for resell privately. this has allowed me to buy and sell 17 cars in the past few years.
this truck is number 18!!! and i think its my keeper.
i love it, its a base model, 5speed, 2wd (this is florida, its flat), black, 99 year.
so as far as ive gathered in my short time on this forum, i got the last year of the 5speed, the new front bumper and cupholders, the pwr up / down drivers and passengers windows, and the 4runners are so greatly upgradeable!!!
im noticing i can just add stuff from the SR5s and Limited's (like a roof rack and a rear hitch and side steps perhaps.) that my base model doesnt 'yet' have.
overall im 100% pleased, my truck only has 59k on it, and i got it for a VERRRRY excellent ammount, due in part to the fact that our lovely south floridian executives know thier little wives wont drive a 5speed SUV, so i was able to 'take it off the dealers hands' at a modest sum.
i'll have pictures up soon, ive got to wash it first! i come from a background of import sport compacts (civics, supras, 240sx's) and at one time owned a pathfinder, but now i can say that this feels right and im totally thrilled.
