I just bought another 4Runner.

I just purchased a 1999 Base model 2.7 5speed to go along with a 2000 Highlander sport 5 speed with 58,000 miles. The 2.7 has 140,000 miles. The body is near perfect, no dents few scratches. I paid $3700.00 for it. It is a two owner. It is 2wd. It has newer tires and seems to run out real good. The clutch is still fairly low.

I asked Bigreenmonster that and he said hes driven both (stick) and there isnt much of a difference. The 6 banger is underpowered already so it cant be that big of a difference anyway.

Wow those wheels and tires are so small. I dont know how Toyota could put that small a wheel on that big a car.

Well the only thing about the 6cyl stick is it does have some snap in first. But driving between the 2 on the interstate theres not that much difference imo.

That snap in first is annoying, i find second and third at about 2 grand is when it opens up.

Its not the wheel size, i meant tire size. Just put a set of 265/70/R15 on it that would look nice. Spray paint the Steelies black it looks way better.

I think the wheel and tire size is rediculous.. 225/75R15 is what's suppose to be on there. I guess upsize it like you said to make it taller... That was the first thing I've done was to buy new wheels.
I suppose the snap is ok when you're trying to tow something to get it moving.. I'm very content with my 2.7.

What purpose is the '99 going to be used for? Keep the miles off the '99?

That tire size would be about 30in, i have 265/70/R16 and it is a little bit taller than what i suggested to you, and mine is a stock tire size and i get 20mpg with it.

Yea 3.4 V6 is a lot more powerful than my 1990 3.0 V6

I am going to use the 99 for trips to Texas from Missouri. I did not want to pile up the miles on the 2000. I am going to take the wheels off of the 2000 and put them on the 1999 as soon as the tires wear out. I am going to buy aluminum wheels for the 2000.
