Too many young kids today getting vehicles they do not have any respect for, or respect for the limitations they have, that go out and drive recklessly and either kill themselves, or worse, an innocent bystander.

I am the guilty one.

I was not bashing him for the possibility that his parents bought him a T4R. I was responding to the comment that we hoped his paretns would give him a good dumping, along with the judge and insurance company. My response was that in my expereince of dealing with parents of criminals, oh I am sorry, defendants of alledged crimes, most parents are so indulgent that they would not dump on the kid, but fight like heck for the kid instead of teaching the kid right from wrong, as if the act itself is no longer at issue and no longer relevent.

I also find that most over indulgent to bad behavior and the same over indulgent in buying them things to buy their affection. If comes back from not being able to say NO or teaching the child to put off gratificaiton for self discipline. There is a lot to be said for the old Bill Cosby line of "walking to school 5 miles each way, up hill both way,s in the snow, barefoot." So my generalization is that parents who would buy a 15 year old a T4R is not teaching the kid self discipline or maturity but merely buying him=can't say no=won't instill right from wrong.

So I am playing the R. Lee Ermey drill sergeant but I won't apologize for it.

If Junior does not get his butt chewed up by his parents with some wicked punishment, then perhaps some butt chewing here would do. His conduct is no laughing matter and he did have a break. No one got injured or killed.

In the alternative, how many of you would want the job of having to cut some burned up charred body out of the mangled remains of a car crash the he caused, or having to knock on the door in the middle of teh night to tell a parent or child their mother, son, daughter, is dead and would you come to the morgue to identify the remains. While I am writing this we just had a sentencing hearing on a drunk driver who crashed onto a sidwalk and crushed a mother carrying her infant son, fracturing in their skulls. Both lived but spent months in intensive care. Can you look into their eyes and not break down in tears at the tragedy sufferd by an innocnet family all caused by some irresponsible POS?

How many of your would want that job.

Is Junior old enough to realize the he put plenty of innocnet people at risk for his behavior?

If being mature and responsible is to stand up to the plate and take his medicine, and if part of it is to accept the wrath of all if only a butt chewing here, then Junior has made his first step towards being an adult.

Yes i have relized that was the stupidist thing i have ever done i stil have my car only to go to school my parents decided not to sell it because i told them what happend mainly because my friends dad is the sheriff and i thought he might be able to get it fixed so i wouldnt have to tell my parents but he said to high of speed and we know the chief of police here and he also said to high of speed to fix before i could drive i always said stuff about people speeding but i guess things changed now i do relize how stupid it was i hope my license dosnt get taken mainly so i can get to work and i have to pay the fine for this i just payed off the fines to my other four tickets not all for speeding only one all in the same stop but those are off my record i have always had a heavy foot since i started driving mainly i think because when i had a permit i was driving my moms cadillac cts but its not excuse i just hope i have a fine and go to a driving thing this time im thinking im about to have to call a few lawyers now trust me what i got from you guys isnt as bad as what i got from my parents and even my damn friends

nothing against you, but I hope you lose your license for atleast a year. With my dealings with my friends thats the only time they really learned their lesson and stopped what they were doing,.

hahaha sorry about that i just got back from work and i been in the rain i can barely feel my hands yet. I have defenitly learned my lesson i have never been so stressed out in my life. But i read the codes they cant suspend my license for more then 60 it says for a fist offense. and i am going to get with a lawyer to check on it i have had friends who did worse things then me and they still got or kept there license.
example: girl i know with a permit wrecked her moms mercedes still got her license the next month.
2nd example: friend driving with a permit after curfew with alcohol still got his license
so im hoping things will be ok for me

After being a cop in VA, this is what I would have done (and have done to others who think they are "expert" drivers--aka: to young and stupid to realize they arent):

-I paced a kid flying down the road in a 35mph doing 95 in hir Acura RSX (he and his two freinds were high by the way). Stopped him, arrested him, and towed his car. By the way, the tow truck driver had a hell of a time gettign under the lowered car and he totally demolished the kids front body kit. I just snickered! Lets just say he ended up paying a ton in court!

-Got into my high-speed pursuit and we ended up hitting 125mph (yes, that is an accurate speed). He ended up pleading guilty to a misd. not a felony and got a year in jail.

Have I been stupid and gone way too fast on public roads? Yes, when I was young and stupid too. Only maturity by aging can change your perspective on things--that, and seeing a dead baby in a car seat from an accident caused by someone racing down the road (ie-a 17 year old kid who thought it was "cool" to go fast). The childs mother survived, but after 3 weeks in a coma. Just think-it could have been you who caused that. Do you really want to live with that guilt for the rest of your live just to act and feel cool?

well it was after 1 i think and there was noone on the road or i didnt see anyone for a long time i slowed down around people. I wasnt trying to be cool or anything i was just trying not to get in trouble i think i got in more then i wanted.
the thing is i was going around 100 when i was going 113 i had been feeling on the ground to feel for my phone and i hit the gas harder i guess because when i looked back up the speedometer said 80 so i obviously hit the gas because i dont think the radar would have been wrong

You're just really lucky that something worse didn't happen to you or the others on the highway. Too bad that you and your family know the sheriff and police chief -- by all rights you should have the same prosecution as anyone who doesn't know them. Even if you don't have your license taken away, your parents should take the keys and put you on a short leash for at least 6 months. Sorry, but no sympathy here -- yes, I've done dumb things before, but never driving that fast in a vehicle that can't sustain it and without proper training to know what to do.

One more thing -- posts like the one quoted would be much easier to read if you'd learn to use punctuation.

All those tickets and now this speeding ticket, you do realize that even if the DMV drops them off your record the insurance companies keep them on file for a long ass time, so your gonna be paying a big premium to drive such a nice car:

Most parents who buy their kids cars pay for their insurance, most pay for gas as well. In my area, a 4runner (even a new one) is a cheap car compared to what a lot of kids drive.

We do know that Junior's family is well off...he says he's had a lead foot since driving his Mom's Caddy CTS, so I can safetly assume Mommy and Daddy bought his T4R for turning 15 with no thought about teaching him right from wrong...all those tickets and he is still unreprentant. Lordy.

I can't believe this. Junior is still trying to justify his recklessness conduct or arguing that he should get a slap cuz other ankle biters did.....

Comma="," It seperates items in a list and adds pauses to your prose. It works just like a speed limit sign. It doesn't surprise me that you don't know about them.

Capital letters (ex: capital "a" = "A"). These are usually reserved for proper nouns and ALWAY appear at the beginning of a sentence. They work just like washing and waxing.

Yes we've all driven fast, but there's a difference between driving fast and just driving like a complete idiot. If you drive that fast, at least keep 2 hands on the wheel

This reminds me of a friend of mine who wanted to buy his daughter a brand new M3 convertible last year. She was going to be 16 (nice gift yada yada). I nearly fell off my chair.

I recommended to him to get her a cheap ass SUV till she is at least 18 or 20, and then if she proved herself a nice car. SHe was pissed at me for a couple of months. Now a year later the SUV got crashed into tree, and she had a number of fender benders with it. FOrtunately she didn't hit other cars, mostly parking accidents against poles and walls. And finally a tree at 30 MPH or so finished the Ford Explorer (AT least a good way to use a FORD). Needless to say she now agrees with the point of getting an older slow SUV to learn. I doubt that Ford could get to 80. And she is real glad the money would rather be spend on her college fees and maybe later a nice car or something. If she had the M3 she would have been cool for a few months and then she would have killed herself and probably someone else as well.

I think they should introduce 60HP cars with rubber bumpers for drivers under 18.

It is a matter of time before your nice new 4R is going to bumped to shit, ask you parents to get an old $500 Jeep or Ford or something till you learn how to drive. AT least you wont beat up a nice vehicle and hopefully not kill anybody.

I have no issue if somebody drives fast, as long as it is on the freeway and they are in control of the vehicle and not driving recklessly. This normally comes with experience behind the wheel.

Here in CA people regularly do 100+ on the I5, seems like the going rate, but I also see a lot of people try to do it in heavy traffic, which is just stupid.

Well there was noone around me when i was driving so i wasnt endangering anybody other then myself. Which i now know that people around here hate if you go way to fast lol. But as for a 500 dollar car i do not agree i havnt been in an accident im not really a bad driver i am just faster. That and compared to most of my friends cars my car is just normal all of us have 03's and up one of them has a hummer h2 alot of them have z71 tahoe's.
I am not saying my car isnt nice or anything just saying. I have slowed down on the roads now knowing i could have killed someone. That and this fine is going to set me back alot considering my car needs new speakers (blew the other ones when i got a indash tv to high of output) and i was planning on getting a new indash monitor. So now i just have to sit back and wait to see what happens to me hopefully going to get a lawyer so they dont take my license.
