That just proofs my point. You think you are a good driver, but you just drive faster.

I'm willing to bet money that if you go to a skid pad you will be all over the map once things start slipping and sliding. It is one to thing to think you can control a car once things go out of control, it is another to do it.

See the thread of the guy flipping his 4Runner in the sand.

Experience comes with time and practice. Understanding risks and what to do it different situations. Also learning not to panic and regain control of the vehicle. If you really want to drive fast, go join a racing school, you will qickly learn how bad your driving abilities are then really learn how to drive. It is like drug addicts, they can't cure themselves till they accept it. Accept that you are very inexperienced and a bad driver, and learn from there. Doing 100 MPH fishing for cellphone proves my point again.

You are still at the point that you dont know what you dont know, once you get to the point that you do know what you dont know you will be a lot better off. Then you can really start learning. Until then slow down and obey the laws, it might just save your life or someone else's.

My 2c, which I believe you will ignore anyhow. But seriously enroll in an advanced driving school, or racing class and then we will talk again after 2 years.
 
you know that actually sounds like a good idea and sounds like fun actually. I have gone faster then my 4runner will go before now that is scary i got my moms cts to 130 and decided to slow it down it was a straight away in the country so no one was around.

Yeah it is fun going fast on public roads, but I was told these wise words by an old race car driver when I was 19.

My best translation. "NEver ever race or drive too fast on a public road. If something goes wrong there are always problems. If you are lucky you will just total the car, if not you will kill somebody else but live. Public roads do not have catch areas once you leave them like race circuits do. They do not always have barriers that save your life. Race circuits do not have cars coming from the opposite direction, and they do not (normally) have animals or pedestrians on them. If something goes wrong on a race circuit you can normally catch it, if it goes wrong on a public road you are F%^%*D. SO why risk it!!"

So what would you do at 130 or 113 at night when you can't see the road ahead, and a deer pops up, a drunk driver comes from the fromt, your tire pops, somebody pulls infront of you??? Is it worth it?
 
Yea well when i was going in her the road was closed because it isnt used anymore so i knew i would be ok with that except for the deer thing. I have had them run across me so many times and i have only been driving for a year. I guess because we live in the northern part of the city.
 
I hate to bust your ass because everybody has done so much of that already, but your actions are exactly why teenage drivers are considered high risk drivers. My insurance company thanks you. You're not even the legal age to drive in most states and you've already had a bunch of tickets and just got caught doing 113, that's just ridiculous.

Seriously though, I don't think you've learned your lesson. Just because there was nobody else on the road doesn't give you the right to be doing far in excess of the speed limit, they're in place for a reason. It's a poor excuse.

But, since you are still out on the road for the time being, drive safely.
 
I was thinking the same thing as bulldog-yota. If you are going 113 mph, and you have to make a sudden move, you are in a lot of trouble. I don't care what kind of car/SUV you are in, whether it has 2 airbags or 10 airbags, you are going to be either seriously hurt or killed. Back when I had my permit, I barely went speed limit. Now, I will sometimes speed (5-10 over), but that is only on a highway with other traffic. I am still afraid of getting a ticket, especially because I am a male under 25 years old.

Let me give you a little example of how I matured over a few years of driving. I used to be under the teenage immature impression that if you are in an SUV, you are invincible in snow and could get through anything (I don't mean speeding in the snow, I just mean normal driving). The one time that I was going 10 mph on an icy hill and went into a spin, that taught me a valuable lesson. Nothing is invincible! Oh, and if I had to tell my parents that I got any kind of speeding ticket, I don't think I would be here today typing this. I think the ticket would look good compared to what I would face when I got home. My opinion is that there are some teenagers who are mature enough to understand the severity of driving. Unfortunately, you have others who think driving is just turning the key and pushing the accelerator down as hard as possible.
 
Ok ok guys i know it was a stupid thing to do. I have learned a lesson with this now dont sneak out because next time they might sell the truck which would not be good. Girls like guys with cars lol. I also have alot of places to go. Talk about an expensive ass lesson considering i pay for the insurance on it.
 
why did you even post up about your ticket ? You were asking for all of this. Almost everyone on this site is at least 5-10 years older than you. Stop whining about your ticket on a 4 runner forum. Go find a speeding ticket forum, I'm sure there are a few out there.

Lighten up. He has not been whining. He has listened to everyone dumping on him (which he deserves) but I haven't heard any whining.
 
you should share your speeding ticket in the off-topic section of yotatech.com, lots of young drivers with 4Runners that love to speed:D
 
No matter what age you are, if you kill yourself and no one else; then you have hurt everyone who knows you. If my son loses his life, my life would be changed forever.

Kid, and I call you that because of the behavior and the bragging about it. Your screwed, I grew up in Louisiana and when I was 15 I got popped for 65 in a 45 and got my license taken away, first offense, you might not get your license back till your 18.

Oh well, I drive that fast now because I'm in Germany, but thats the flow of traffic over here on the Bahn.

i wasnt bragging about it i asked what did people think would happen when i go to court. I am not to worried about it right now my dads office has just burnt down so it hasnt been on my mind to much.
 
Hmmmmm! Let's see......an actual speeding ticket for doing 113mph and a confession of driving at high rates of speed up to 130mph! This causes me to wonder how responsible you are in other aspects of your youthful life.
First off, I find the 130+ mph very HARD to believe! Here's why! The US version of the 4Runner has an automatic engine shutoff fuel limiter at approximately 109-110 mph. That's right.....it will severly restrict the fuel delivery or temporarily shut the engine off when you begin to exceed this speed.
Now come on.....are you actually pulling our legs on this forum about your self proclaimed 130+ mph jolts? I too am finding this story more unbelieveable the more information you tell us about it. If it all is true........I hope the members of T4R.org informative insight will help curtail your actions of speeding in the future!

Can Someone please give me a link to something that says it will shut off at that speed. Because if that is true then there is no way i could have been going that fast i mean the ticket says 113. But if the engine shuts off 5 mph before that speed then i couldnt have. Is it possible that he shot the wrong
car? Because i was in the left lane and there was a car passing me in the right lane and the police car was sitting off the road on the right side. I know i was going fast but when i looked at the speedometer i was not going that fast.
