I just installed K&N Filter Intake for my V6

I just got K&N intake for my 2004 4runner V6.

I think it's all right. I don't really feel different.

Maybe RPM goes up little faster than before.

to clarify, did you get a replacement filter for the stock intake or the full intake kit?

and thanks for your review as i've always wondered what other v6 owners thought of their k&n.

I have the k@n filter just the replacemant, and I don't think it makes a difference. I also don't think the intake is better than the replacement or better. The one with the intake is very expensive and just louder.

I've K&N Off-Road Performance Intake in my V6. I tested it before and after installing. First, I've 12hp power increase. Second, 1.5 l/100km (~1mpg) fuel economy (with same driving style).

Alex how do you know you got a 12 hp increase, I was thinking maybe 5-10 hp but even 12 hp is bearly noticeable.The v6 is already very powerful. I have the k@n drop in and maybe there is a 1-5 hp increase but I can't tell.

I went to the friends garage and he recommend me Dyno-Test. So this is a result of Dyno-Test - 252hp. 252(with K&N) - 240(stock) = 12hp.

I wasn't thinking of doing it, so I did it just for fun and was impressed of the result. He didn't print the graph, so I don't have it.

9.20 HP @ 5388 RPM ,2004 TOYOTA 4 Runner 4.0L V6 F/I - All SUV 77 Kit 77-9023KP

7.89 HP @ 5188 RPM
first one is for the fipk and second one is for 77kit.

It makes bigger sounds. Maybe little faster than before.
Not sure. 7 out of 10.
It wans't that hard to install it.
But i don't know i did it right ==;.

Looks like everything is in place. Why you cut the rubber trim. I did mine in one piece, looks nicer and holds better. You can check it mine in My 4Runner Project
My intake looks a little bit different. Seems like I have bigger filter. Which one do you have: FIPK or AirCharger?

I'm getting my aftermarket intake soon so hopefully it'll improve my hp. But just to let you know, when you install an intake, you must clean your throttle body and other engine parts so you wouldn't lose any hp. Cleaning your throttle body could increase about 1-2 hp. Also, cleaning your MAF (Mass Air Flow) sensor. When you take out your chip (make sure you unplug your battery first), you might see dust in your sensor so cleaning it will improve hp. Hope this helps.

Agree at 110%. You may skip this step if your vehicle is new (less then 10K)

wanted cut it.
