BTW, got the harness fine, just need a display and time and/or inspiration to install it. Looked at the Toyota website today and see that very display in blue on the 2019 Pro. Isn’t that interesting!

I got them back. I am NOT liable for any damage or malfunctions with any of you devices/vehicles/radios.

I only downloaded the files for the iPhone X and iPad 5/6th gens.

iPhone X: iPhone X.ipsw - Google Drive

iPad 5 and iPad 6: iPad (5th generation), iPad (6th generation).ipsw - Google Drive

Other devices:Download Beta Profiles

You can only update with a Mac.

There are two options for installing the ios betas.
1: You can install Mac OS Catalina Beta. (this is the option I chose)
It is rather buggy but not too terrible.

file here to install Catalina. macOSCatalinaDeveloperBeta.dmg - Google Drive

There are many install guides online for this.

Then once it is installed, connect you idevice and open finder. Select idevice. Hold option and click restore iphone. Wait a second or two, then select the file you downloaded earlier for your specific idevice. (it will end with .ipsw)

2: install Xcode 11 Beta
I do not have the file for this, but it is easy to find online.
Then once it is installed, connect your idevice and open itunes. Select idevice. Hold option and click restore iphone. Wait a second or two, then select the file you downloaded earlier for your specific idevice. (it will end with .ipsw)


The options above will install IOS 13 to your device. You will need to backup to icloud before you install. After, you will want to restore to the backup. It will just redownload your phone stuff basically.

I used 3utools to update the firmware on the pc [emoji56] here are a few pics. Overall I like it.

[MENTION=150567]Old Red[/MENTION] That's what I thought the service rep would tell you. However, I did have a contact with a high-level service rep from South East Toyota when my seat heater when belly up in my 2011, but I don't think I saved his info.....I'll have to dig around.

Your write up on changing the display was great and it seems more effort than rocket science. I'm mechanically and electrically inclined so it should not be too difficult. I still have to buy the display.

The display picture was from a Toyota promo ad and I cannot find it quickly.....it may have from been the video of the Toyota Pro challenge in Vietnam, but not sure. It caught my eye quickly. The cable TV ads here in Pittsburgh on are featuring the Pros a lot here and they are really pushing the voodoo blue runner.

Later this afternoon I will do some more probing and check my "history" to find it. If I remember correctly it was in a video and passed by quickly and you had to be tuned for it to see it.

[MENTION=150567]Old Red[/MENTION] Will do on the contact....I ran through some old emails and only find the issues with the local service manager.....I'll give him a call, since that was just last year so he may remember me.....why? Because Mid Atlantic Toyota would not admit there was a safety problem with the seat heaters like SE Toyota did....that was a big fiasco but they eventually fixed the issue.....fire hazzard....

I do agree that the more we all push for an update, the higher the probability it may happen.....and agreed, easier to do some simple mods to make this happen....Apple Car Play IMHO is simply a software update since the current HU has similar features......however since its Apple, there will be issues of course.

No mention of the 4Runner as of now. He did take my contact info down, and said he would do some asking himself, and notify me if he heard anything coming down the line. So at this point, I would say the rumors that we are getting a carplay update are exactly that, rumors.
