yeah i wash mine all the time in the summer. being black it looks amazing when its clean.
I'm so anal about mine that I rinse it off every night before I bring it in my heated garage, 240k need this thing to last!
I swear that sometimes on a still night, I can actually listen to the rust.... nom nom nom...
I have a heated garage and I think that helps because it reduces the moisture in the air. Salt is bad, but wet salt it worse.
.
Well, I googled it like you suggested and found hundreds of opinions on every autoforum in the world. Didn't find anything that sounded very convincing, but yes most people say it's bad. The funny thing is, they all say they heard it was bad. There's virtually no prove or evidence from a study or similar.I thought it was common knowledge that a heated garage is terrible for your car when you're driving on snowy/salty roads. Trust me, you're far better off leaving the car outside instead of pulling it into a heated garage. Actually, don't trust me, just Google it.
Another reason I love our dry air in Colorado.
