I need advice about my 4runner.

Ok, I just got an 08 4runner sr5, and i would like to level it out. I want to get rid of that factory look. any advice?

I have the Daystar Spacer Lift & I was drooling over it for a year till I finally caved in.

It definately looks nice, but it's the same travel as stock, because you're just adding a spacer to extend the stock strut/shock assembly.

I actually help do the install & it's so much work for so little improvement.

I don't regret doing it, because if I didn't do it, I wouldn't have known this information.

If I did it all over again, I'd go with...

The ds 2.5/1.5 will level out the 4runner and make the running boards, if you have them parallel with the ground. Check out the FJ coil swap sticky in the suspension section by swamp_ark_rider. :cheers:

if you do a search on "daystar 2.5" most of the threads will show that they also do a 1.5 in the rear. tons of threads on it.

here is my 07 when I first got it:

then I installed a 3/2 Readylift and it looked like this with stock tires:

then I got some slightly larger tires and ditched the mudflaps and running boards:

Then I wanted more so I got the adjustable Bilsteins and FJ springs (with some sliders):

I think the 3/2 levels it out really well, if you go up 2 or 2.5 in the front and leave the back alone you should be good. Or, you can get the adjustable Bilstein shocks and have 4 choices of front height. The install on the spacers is a little simpler than the shocks but either way you have to pull the front suspension apart and go for an alighnment when your done....

Just my $.02

ps, a keen eye will notice the very hard to find Tire Buddy III on the back tire... probably the coolest purchase I have ever made for any motorcycle / truck!! I bought 2 of them a while back and I want 2 more if anyone knows where to get them pls let me know.
