Looks like a good choice. The important thing is that the timing belt has been done, as well as new brakes and wheel bearings (although I'm not sure why the wheel bearings would be replaced at this mileage). See if you can take it to a mechanic in the area and have them look it over. That is a decent price in Canadian dollars, especially with an E-locker, although I didn't know that 2001's came with E-lockers.

Hey, I went and looked today, the truck looks better in the pictures then in person there are some specs of rust forming in some parts of the truck and I dont know if I should be worried about that... What do you think?

Go back and take a look, if it's just surface rust it's nothing to be worried about. That is the biggest problem with the 4runner up north, the frames just rot away if not properly taken care of. If it's just surface rust then be ready to do some frame treatment, but if it's got actual pinholes forming in the frame I would run away.

It really depends on how the owner took care of it, its definitively more susceptible to rust the farther north, but if the owner washed it weekly with they were salting the roads and kept it indoors i think it wouldnt be to bad.

Just an FYI, by diff lock I'm assuming the seller means center diff lock(traditional 4x4) as stated above, the '01s did not come with the rear diff lock.

Im considering coming south to pick up a low mileage, rust free 4Runner if I dont find any clean ones over the year.
