I need some opinions on tires!!

I am looking for new tires for my 2000 4runner and have narrowed it down to a couple. Bridgestone dueler a/t revos, michelin cross terrain and Ltx a/t, and the bfg a/t. I will be driving in some snow any opinions on these tires or others would be greatly appreciated.

The Revos seem to be the hot tire right now. Everyone raves about them and some people have said they had to wait to get them because sales are so strong.

I would try them out.
 
i have the michelin's on my '89 runner right now, they're ok, nothing great. i have used the bfg's on my nissan pickup and thought they were great. wonderful snow traction, lots of time i didn't even need 4wd. the bfg's are nice because you can air them down and they work wonderful off road, and running about 10-15psi in the snow is really great. the michelin's are not very good off road for anything more than a fire road. i've never used the revo, so i can't comment on that. my next set of tires is either going to be the bfg k/m or the goodyear mt/r. i haven't been hearing too many good things about the mt/r, so right now i'm leaning towards the k/m but i still have another year or so until i need new tires, so i don't have to make that decision yet.

Mike, i actually have heard the opposite. The MT/R is a favorite among Jeepers. I have heard that they are tougher...however, my brother states that MT/R seems to slightly gum up easier as compared to BFG. (He has the Wrangler Rubicon which has MT/R; his old Wrangler had BFG.)
 
I bought the Yokohama Geolandar A/T Plus I
tires for my '97 4runner

So far I love them, they're a bit more agressive than I had wanted initially, but they're wearing pretty good at 1000 miles.

I took them in some nice deep mud when I was last at the race track and they worked flawlessly. Scared the jeep owner I had in the truck with me, he didn't think we'd make it, but the 4runner with the yokos just pulled right through.

Suprisingly, gas mileage has not suffered at all, I'm running 20-22 mpg on mixed highway/city driving at cruising speeds up to 80mph.

They're also excellent handling (for a truck tire)
 
thai, i should have been more clear on the problems i heard about the mt/r. everyone says they're great off road, just like you say. but in the case of a daily driver and off road truck, it turns out that goodyear isn't too good at making the tires very round. most of the complaints i've heard are tires that wear too fast (compared to the k/m) when used a significant time on the road, and tires that are impossible to balance. from what i've read people have had to take their mt/r to get shaved to get them round enough to use. i'm hoping that by the time i need tires, goodyear has fixed their out-of-round problem. i use nothing but goodyear on my cars and i'd like to use them on my trucks too.

Oh, i see...i will tell my brother to keep an eye out. He better rotate them frequently then!

Anyway, i forgot to say that my brother thinks the MT/R is noisier on the streets than the BFG.
