Meh, I never liked those DIY A/C cans available everywhere. I recently had an issue (yesterday) with the A/C on my Civic. I took it to a specialist (independent garage near my parents place). Dude hooked it up to a special machine and saw I was 1/3 below the pressure I was supposed to be at. So, the machine evacuated my A/C system (vacuum), filled it , put dye in it (we suspect a small/slow leak) and I was off. Cost me $89.00. Guy even said those DIY cans should only be used in an emergency and even then most of the time won't help the real issue. Most issues come from leakage.

AC Pro recharge
I topped mine off. You gotta be careful to not get out of the green (pressure) and red lines (temperature).
If your compressor not working then its useless to even recharge.

How can I know if the compressor is on? And how do I know if I overfilled or if there is a leak?
I’m not sure what help I could be on this. Personally I would get it dye checked, to make sure this isn’t a leak. Second, I would use a manifold ac setup over those quick charge cans. It certainly can tell you how low you really are or if you have something failing or blocked.

Open the hood and look down..while looking have someone turn on the ac, you should see the compressor clutch engage, and engine sound changes a bit...if you cant observe anything....then it means your compressor isnt engaging, which could be as a result of too little or too much gas....and only a manifold guage will tell you either
