i think my suspension is shot

hey i got an 04 sr5 113,000 on it. lately my truck whenever i hit a bump it feels like i just hit a dam wall. plus my steering feels really loose. any ideas or maybe suggestions on what kind of suspension i should get. im lookin to get around a 3in lift thanks guys

What is the condition of your shocks? It is likely that they need to be replaced.

If you're hitting rough pavement and it feels like your shock isn't doing anything, then yeah, it's done. When struts loose their ability to dampen, you'll pretty much hear them slapping piston up the tube. And yes, this will also affect steering as a uncontrolled suspension can affect that. However, it would also be a good time with 100K+ miles to check up on all your balljoints and invest in new ones while you're in there.

thanks for the help guys wanted to know if this combination sounds good. i was thinkin on getting the adjustable front coilover kit bilstein shocks (429.00) , bilstein 5100 extended length rear shocks with rear toytec coils (370.00) total= 797.99 cheaper than the ultimate 3 inch lift package for 1179.00 let me know what u guys think if i should go with somethin else or if this combo sounds good

i was gonna go with fj trd shocks fr&r fj stock springs and some spacers to give a little lift. im in da process of learning this so i may be doing it wrong.

not that i know of theres some nasty trails down in forket river but their serious trails if we went through them without a lift well probably be missin some shit on our trucks by the end of the day lol
