My 2020 AG Pro was $4k off. I had to finance through them, but the rate was fine.
I had a friendly relationship with a finance member at another dealership who made a phone call for me and got the discount handled.
They're going to get a little more desperate in the next few months. If you need it now, keep calling around.
There's an AG one here in Jacksonville right now. I'll link it below. It's been on the lot a few weeks and I bet they might do a deal on it if you get in touch. Given how cheap the flights are, it might be cheaper for you to fly out here, get it, and drive it back. That is, if they're willing to play ball.

Yep 22M on unemployment. This is only going to get worse and its just the start. They are really going to start to the feel the squeeze over the next 1-2 mo and then I can smell the desperation. Good time to be a buyer.

I think you're right. It's just a bit too early to start looking for deals. I'd also guess it'll be a few more months before they start feeling the pinch of floor plan financing and revenue/debt ratios on their other capital financing and need to move inventory.
4Runners, Tacomas, and a few other vehicles are probably not going to see the same discounts as F150's though. Toyota doesn't have the same constraints as Ford in terms of being damn near bankruptcy. So they can slow down manufacturing and sit for a while without forcing inventory down the throats of dealers. Ford doesn't have the luxury. So they'll be going full-on fire sale mode soon I'm guessing.

People are already reporting that they getting 2020 TRD PROs below MSRP during this pandemic. With the unemployment rate hitting in the millions, that’s a lot of people not buying brand new cars so the auto industry is going through a huge hit.

I'm guessing that 2021 models might be delayed or not even released. Does anyone know if the major manufacturers are still building cars?
None of my customers in North America are in production (GM, Honda, Toyota, Ford, FCA JEEP). Our automotive division was originally planning for a May 1 re-opening, but that's not looking great at the moment.

Understood. My response was to a more general inquiry if major automakers are building cars. I can say with confidence, in North America they are not. My company makes a pretty integral component for a large number of vehicles produced in North America. I can check with my counterparts in Japan, but we don't service the 4R platform.

Most people currently collecting unemployment insurance could never afford a 4Runner. Manufacturers know something that we don’t. If they have enough confidence to float 3 or 4 payments they are stable and think the economy will be soon too.
Just in for service right now in southern Alberta and asked service guy if things are slowing down...he mentioned they have sold 22 cars this month...
I'm looking for a 2020 4runner TRD OR and putting the feelers out.
Still undecided on that new front grille and halogen lights....wanting to find out about 2021's and if they have led's.

If you are patient, the deals are out there. You need to expand your search area firstly. Everything can be done via email. I would think right now they would be willing to deal just to move units.

In my opinion wait until the 2021 TRD Pro is announced along with whatever exclusive color it'll be. Then and only then will dealers start to offer some discounts for the 2020.
However if the 2021 color sucks the 2020's might jump in price so who knows

I had a similar situation. Local dealer would no budge at all on price. Even though they were telling me they were so slow and not selling. Left them with my price and number, never backed down off price, only offered $500 more on my 2013 Runner trade. Started looking around, got a fantastic deal and amazing service at another local dealer a week later. Keep up with the grind. I was able to eventually use this to my advantage. Though it wasn't a pro. But in a few weeks even those will be needing moved.

You just have to shop around and be willing to travel to find a good deal.
I got more than $3K knocked off the price of my Pro last year. Just had to buy a one-way plane ticket and spend an afternoon driving from eastern OH back to Chicago in order to get it.
Did the entire deal through email/text (might've spoken to my salesman once on the phone prior to showing up to sign the paperwork).
