It'll also depend on what time of the month you're hunting for a new vehicle. Early to middle of the month you will most likely NOT hit a good deal. End of the month when quotas and goals should be reached: better odds!

I had a similar situation. Local dealer would no budge at all on price. Even though they were telling me they were so slow and not selling. Left them with my price and number, never backed down off price, only offered $500 more on my 2013 Runner trade. Started looking around, got a fantastic deal and amazing service at another local dealer a week later. Keep up with the grind. I was able to eventually use this to my advantage. Though it wasn't a pro. But in a few weeks even those will be needing moved.

I’ve been reading this forum for months waiting to pull the trigger and finally did today so I registered to post! I got a Pro for about 7.5% below MSRP with an OTD price about $500 below MSRP in MI. They hadn’t really wanted to budge for a while but today they decided to agree to my price, so now it sits in my driveway. The deal is out there if you’re just patient and play it right! FWIW the sales guy didn’t seem thrilled about letting it go at that price!

Good deal! Glad to hear that you got over on them. Screw those sales guys, for all the irritating back and forth negations and wasting my time all through the years. Wish I was in the market for a new vehicle right now, man, I would have so much leverage.

I did actually. OTD about $1500 under MSRP and they gave me right around $1000 more for the trade in than they should have.
