I took the plunge

I went to my friendly Windward Toyota dealer and decided to go ahead and purchase the '06 V8 4WD Limited. It is Titanium with stone interior. Hawaii has only 4 packages to choose from as far as options go. This was the package I chose:
# (RL) Daytime Running Lights
# (GY) Driver & Passenger Side & Curtain Airbags
# (RF) Rear Spoiler w/ Center High-Mount Stop Lamp
# (EJ) JBL Synthesis 3-in-1 CD-Changer Audio w/ 10 speakers
# (NF) Rear Air Suspension
# (SR) Power Tilt & Slide Sunroof
# (NH) X-REAS Suspension
I will be picking it up next week as it is currently at their port storage facility (never been on a dealer's lot!). I am so excited and cannot wait! I am going to be on this site for quite some time reading all that there is to know!
Is there anything I should ask for/expect from the dealer before I take delivery?

That is exactly the same thing I got 3 weeks ago minus the Rear Air Suspension. You won't be disapointed.

damn. that sounds like one sweet ride. i bet it cost an arm and a leg, but i'm sure it's worth every penny. take some good pics. we'll all want to see it. congrats on the new 4runner, welcome to the boards.

Thanks for the replies. I think I got a decent deal out of them. The hard part about buying a vehicle in hawaii is supply. It seems that because we are in such a small place, car dealers don't want to have too much inventory on hand and that drives up demand for the vehicles with popular options. We all know the side effects of increased demand and low supply.
Anyway, I don't think I am going to sleep well until I get my 4Runner out of anticipation and then I won't be able to sleep when I do get it because I will want to spend as much time in/with it as possible.
I am also going to be thinking of a name for it. (I call it an it because I don't know the etiquette. Am I supposed to refer to it as a "her", like a typical car, or should it be "him" since it is, after all, a 4Runner? And I'm a guy so does that make a difference too?)

Sounds like a great combo of options. I would inspect it thoroughly and test drive it before I signed on the bottom line and paid for it. Good luck with it. You're gonna love it!

P.S. Great color too.:D

This is a great SUV for Hawaii with the sunroof and roll-down rear window. Lucky b@$+@rd being able to drive 'convertible' in one of the most gorgeous places on earth all year round while us northern main-landers only get 5 - 6 months a year out of the sunroof and rear window. Enjoy!

Too funny! I can't wait for it! :D

How much did you get that for?

I am planning to buy soon. I already decided to get 2006 2WD V6 SPORT in SHADOW MICA with the option B package:

(RL) Daytime Running Lights
(GY) Driver & Passenger Side & Curtain Airbags
(PN) Anti-Theft Alarm System
(NA) 115V AC Power Point
(CM) Double Decker Cargo System
(RF) Rear Spoiler w/ Center High-Mount Stop Lamp
(NJ) Homelink
(EC) Inside Rearview EC Mirror
(NE) Leather Steering Wheel w/ Cruise & Audio Control
(TO) Tow Hitch
(EJ) JBL Synthesis 3-in-1 CD-Changer Audio w/ 10 speakers

They don't have it right now but some are coming in June/July with the above configuration and color. One thing about buying it in Hawaii, you can only select your options from a package (4 to choose from). From the above, I do not really like to get the alarm, homelink, and JBL audio. I prefer to get the sunroof instead but I can't swap those options.

You should go with the package "C" and get the moonroof. That is the only difference between the two packages and $900 (msrp). I'm sure you could haggle a bit more on the price and get it for less than $900 more.
I ended up paying $40k out the door for mine.

I bought the [Servco] Option B package on my 2005 Sport V6 2WD. Fortunately for me, it's exactly what I wanted -- side airbags, JBL Changer, etc. -- and no moonroof.

I agree with Kailua250 -- if you really want the moonroof, get package C. Better to do that than to keep wishing you had spent the extra grand after.

Edited to add: Kind of moot since I bought over a year ago, but I paid $31K OTD including dealer-installed reverse parking sensors.
