You guys pretty much entirely made me want to keep my 4runner, I wanted to sell it for awhile but now I am starting to enjoy it again

What to do? bigger lift?

I dont have a ton of money to go spend so, what options do I have?

Not sure what you have done so far but you can do a lot for that cash.

1). Deckplate mod
2) Blue wire mod aka grey wire mod

4) Black out or gun metal grey on your badges
5) Home-made sliders
6) Tundra brake upgrade
7) HIDs

Could you please explain the home made sliders, blue wire mod and deckplate mod? I am very interested in these....

What is done right now is

AEM Intake, 2.5 daystar lift, 265/75 wranglers, blacked out stock wheels, did the traction control switch and I think that is it.. and tinted windows ... I got the car when I was 16 so it also has some sound system bull**** when I thought that was "cool"

Also with the OME lift, I see you can just purcahse the springs. Now wouldnt you want new shocks to? or can the stock shocks hold a lifted spring and ride for awhile without being blown?

First do a little searching to see what you can find, then come back if you have troubles locating anything in particular... Obviously you can't make "home made" sliders unless you have things like a plasma cutter and a welder handy and know how to use them.

You could pay someone to weld the stuff for you and that shouldn't be too much but a cutoff wheel will work in the place of a plasma cutter to cut pieces to length. It also depends on what kind of sliders you make as to whether you need tubing bent or not.

Since you said traction control and I'm thinking 01-02 is your year model I'm going to say that grey wire mod is out. Try putting your 4runner details in your signature because all I know is when I look at your first post is you have a silver runner with some duratracs and a rear spoiler that may possibly give away the year model to some other more savy 4runner enthusiasts.

side note but do u have any more pics of ur 4runner with the blacked out stock wheels? ive seen a couple 4runners on here with the same rims and blacked out but not very good pics so im still unsure if i wanna do this or keep them stock color. New rims is on my list of mods but way down there.

pictures for you sir... It took about 20min to do, Took each wheel off got some index cards between the wheel and tire and did some quick sanding and sprayed and after a year this is what it looks like still with only two coats of primer and thats all

and I do have a welder so possibly might make some sliders

Looks like you shaved the back, too....

You can do the 199mm Tundra brake upgrade but you'll have to trim the back side of your wheels if you want to go to the 231mm upgrade.

Nice. Snorkel? Swap the giant muffler out for a Magnaflow? It all depends on your needs and style. HID's are cheap, fast and make a huge difference. I like the idea for the Tundra brakes and sliders too.

u can run them on stock shocks but u have to be careful about how much flex ur doing... i tried to use stock shocks bc i didnt have the money but when i was putting my rear coils in, my friend and i over extended the right side after successfully inserting the left and well we broke my right shock so i just decided it would be smarter to just get the OME shocks. Also if get a shop to put the front struts ull have to get them to take it apart and reassemble it when u decide to get the other shocks (more money)

For $600 you could get a Budbuilt skid plate or ditch your spacer lift and get an OME/FZJ-80 lift. Either one would be a good upgrade.

You want to get new shocks when you replace the coils especially when using lift coils, besides you might as well do it while you are tearing everything apart. Get your OME lift kit, make sure you get the top out spacer to get a full 3" lift, get the diff drop kit and start saving for some bigger tires. some of the other stuff mentioned (ie: deckplate mod) are very inexpensive, however once you've done the deck plate get a cat back exhaust (you'll love the rumble and the thought that you are adding power!!)

After your done with that look at either 1 or 2" body lift, sliders, bumpers and some 35's!!!!! :girl:
