I want to install a gun rack

what do you think is the best place to put it?
I was thinking on the ceiling in the trunk but I'm just not sure

Sticking out by the driver side piller with a pivot... No one will ever cut you off again.

Drill a 3-4' hole in the roof of the cargo area and mount them to a turret. I think an M-60, SAW, or an M1919 would be very effective. Really though, it depends on the size of the rifles/shotguns you will be mounting like Pikeman said. My 18.5" Mossberg 500 would fit in the rear windows and a lot of places, but my Remmy 700 would probably be limited to the roof (probably something like Duhockey did for his fishing poles).

lol ya my friends told me to mount a gun rack a while back by the back window so its like most trucks are here in TX.

Check out bigsky mounts. They make great racks for all types of firearms. The UCR (universal ceiling restraint) bar will allow you to attach their mounts securely. A little pricey, but quality.

Still trying to figure out where your "Trunk" is? ....In all seriousness I have seen them mounted in the passenger or driver side rear windows in the cargo area. I like the idea of mounting it to the ceiling the cargo area. Mine has two covers (2" diamater) that must be covering something this could be a good spot to tap into.

I have also seen rear seat carriers that hang off the head rests but they take up leg room of the rear seat passengers. Why not mount a gun rack to the back of the rear seats and pull the privacy shade to cover them when you want to this would conceal them when you are parked.
