I weighed mine, What does your rig weigh?

I weighed my 2001 SR5 3.4 4x4 on our Scales today which are KY dept of ag certified. The 4R is 100% stock down to the stock size tires. No driver and a full tank of gas, it weighed 4,180lbs.
This seems really hefty to me and has me worried about making a modest overland build.

What do your rigs weigh with was significant mods?
Im worries what sliders, size up tires, skid plates, a roof rack, high lift, obvious camping supplies, 12v fridge, recovery gear, full size spare, water/fuel cans, and two people will do to the weight.
Is 5000lbs a good weight to stay under?

Well people have been adding weight without issues since they have been released. You just get a slower rig. Supercharger always helps. Fully loaded Curb weight is around 4000lbs so your not much higher.

Sounds about right....2.5T by the time you add trail armor, bigger tires, winch, etc.

Me on a normal day (just dropped off scrap metal) was about 4500# if I remember right. I think I had my tool kit, recovery gear, and spare parts/ fluids with me. I have a front skid and sliders for armor. Not many other weighty mods. Probably 3/4 tank of gas. I have 235/85R16 all terrains and a full size spare.

I would hate to see my weight when loaded for a camping/ wheeling trip


The way I think of it is- even with all my camping gear, I still weigh less than a 5th gen, so I think I'll be fine

My rig fully loaded with everything I have on it is 5500+ and close to 6000 with passengers. Handles well and I'm not worried about GVWR or anything.

Last year in the middle of our Colorado/Utah road trip, it weighed 5360 lbs.

Skids, sliders, rear bumper with swingout, 33" tires, Warn winch, and a bunch of overlanding supplies.

Mine weighed 4000lbs exactly with 1/4 tank of gas, no spare tire or bottle jack. Had to weigh it in May for a ditty move.

Thanks for all the replies guys. I think 5000 total is a pretty lofty goal but I'll give it a shot. All the overland people had me worried with their talk of weight adding and horror stories

I,m just over 5000 with Land Cruiser running gear, tools, armor/bumpers and recovery gear.
