I weighed my 3rd gen today

I weighed my 3rd gen today on a Certified Cat Scale and thought I'd share the weight. CAT's website lists all the places near you that do this. It's only $8-11 depending on where you are. I did it to measure the tongue weight of my trailer.

But for those curious, my 2002 4runner SR5 4x4 (which is basically stock) was 4240 lbs.
Front axle = 2240 lbs
Drive axle = 2000 lbs

Some info:
-I was not in the vehicle
-Gas tank was 2/3rds full
-I had some things in the 4runner, probably 50-100lbs worth
-I have 265/75/16 tires


I found this interesting, as most quoted 3rd gen weights on websites are 3800lbs.

i got to the metal recylers all the time. I don't ever notice the gas level, and i'm in the car, but after dropping off the steel, I weigh ~4400 lbs. that's with 33' goodyear mtrs and nothing else in the car.

Quoted dry weights are never close to actual. Dry is with no fuel, oil, or water. And are usually quoted on absolute base model.

Dry weight on my '62 is 4850, it's over 7K. 4200 is pretty good in my eyes. My buddy's 1st gen tipped 4800 fully loaded.

Well I gained 15LBS the last time I was in Arkansas, that sweet tea is just too good.

Think these are slow, my runner is fast compared to my 89 toy truck with the 22re. I am sure some guys from the classics section can agree.

For this very reason I'm running a carbon fiber shifter knob and keychain.
It is space-age shit. I'm doing carbon fiber wrap everywhere I can to bring the weight down even more. It weighs pretty much nothing at all.
