I wish I knew more about my 4runner

So I have had great responses in the past with my random questions on maintanance and such so here are a few more you all may have some helpful answers for me...
So my 4Runner is a 93 4cylinder with about 96,000 miles on the 22re. I love her thats for sure but since I have lived in CO for this last month, either the cold weather or the altitude it just putting her down in the dumps. I think I got my previous problem with the started fixed (i think it really was/is my battery). Anyways...my question now is does anyone know any tricks to the locks??? It isnt that they are freezing, but some times I just cant get my doors to come unlocked at times!!! It is the weirdest thing to me. Of and if you have any more input on my starter vs battery problem that would be helpful as I still have not had a chance to get my battery tested. (the problem is- my Runner does not usually start the first time, previously I had hit my starter with a bar and then it would start but lately it has just taken a few start up tries and some gas. My battery is a pretty nice, brand new battery but I have heard cold weather will do wonders to your battery). Any help with any of this would be great!!!!

The locks may just need lubricating, and powered graphite is the best thing. Next best would be some spray grease.

If banging on the starter makes it work, it could be the contacts in the starter solenoid.

i have a 94 age has started to take its toll. the locks were getting stiff to turn and the rear window lockset needed to be jiggled to work. i tried making new keys, that did not work . i went to a locksmith and payed 60 dollars for him to look up the key code and i gave him the lockset from the drivers door ,he rekeyed it like new .never had a problem after that . BATTERY i live in newyork it does get cold and the battery feels it . they sell a "blanket" to wrap and protect the battery but i never used one.
We live near the ocean and i have had to climb under runner and with a wire brush ,clean the terminals on the starter .try that
