No. If the shaft literally pulled out staking wouldn't do shit. Staking is when you use a metal punch on the rim to create a little metal obstruction to keep something from unscrewing. What they need is to create a pin that goes through the male and female connections to keep things from pulling and twisting.
ICON should take a look at the lot numbers and try to figure out if they sent out a bad batch of shocks.
Sorry got my terminology mixed up. Range is explaining what I'm thinking of. Drill a hole through the two pieces and insert a pin, the torsion of the threads keeps the pin in place.
