Icon rear 2.0 shocks & washboards

For those running icon rear 2.0 shocks, how does it handle washboard/pitted dirt roads?

I have said shocks with OME 890's and panhard relocation brackets to raise/lower the bar and level it out. I still feel like I get some uncontrolled bouncing & fluttering over these types of areas at around, 15-20 mph. The front coil-overs tend to take things in stride a bit easier. Maybe my expectations are too high at that speed.

I don't have any additional weight in the rear so I can't imagine the springs are too soft.

Another random question I am throwing in here. The internal bump stops in the stock rear springs...Do people tend to run those? I put them back in with the 890s but I can hear them hitting the spring seat under certain conditions. I imagine they provide .5" lift or so.

I'm wondering the same thing. I just ordered the stage 5 kit from Icon, still waiting for it to arrive. Those 890 springs are 190lb and stock is 122lb according to eibach. I'm wondering if they are too stiff for that type of driving. Most of the stuff I do is rocky, whooped out, washboard roads down in Mex and those springs with bilstien rear shocks are a horrible combo for that stuff. was hoping the Icons are going to be an improvement, especially with the CDCV. Talking to Icon, they recommend the stock spring rate.

Interesting. What spring do you plan to run? Is there anything that offers 2.5" lift at the stock (or close) rate?

I'm going to try the new shocks with the 890s first. hoping to back the comp off on the shocks and get a good ride at speed. I've been searching everywhere for that elusive 2.5" lift with about a 150lb spring rate, nothing. everything is much higher rate or shorter. Might have to consider the 99 coils with a spacer as a last resort.

Its encouraging to hear that the front works good with those 650lb springs. did you back the compression damping off? if that made them work better a revalve in the rear shocks might be the answer instead of different springs. Your non-adjustable rear shocks are valved at the equivalent to #4 setting on the adjustable ones.

I have the extended travel fronts but not resi. Equivalent of a stage 2 I believe (but I am running different UCAs). I installed them as they came and didn't make any adjustments to the damping. This is not an on-the-fly adjustment it is?

You will have to let me know how the 890s work with the various settings since yours are adjustable.

I think it mostly comes down to tire pressure and speed after the stuff you already did. There is a sweet spot speed on washboard where it calms down.

I found that after I replaced my aging body mounts with poly that the truck vibrations were much less intense when on washboards.

I would have assumed that would transmit more vibration because they are harder than rubber but I guess it tightens it up and reduces them.
