ICON Suspension stiffness

So I installed a stage 2 icon lift about a month ago. Really pleased with it overall. I left the front coilovers at the height I received them from icon. After riding around with stock tires and wheels for a few weeks, I installed some FN wheels with a 285/70/17 ten ply tire. Problem is i have rubbing on the back side of the right side front fender well. i've trimmed a lot of plastic and hammered that pinch weld back some and as of now i only rubber when i got into a parking lot with a little speed with the wheel turned a little. I could trim more but I'm considering just adjusting the coilovers to get more lift in the front. My QUESTION is.......Is the increased stiffness extremely noticeable when adjusting the coilovers? Any first hand experience with this would be much appreciated.

how adjusted are you thinking? essentially 2-3 turns will net you an inch or 3/4". So two turns should do it. im cranked over the original amount (not a lot more) and cant notice. you can always go back down. Also remember if you adjust coilovers, the alignment needs adjustment as well.
 
thanks for the info. I'm trying to do just enough to stop ALL rubbing. So probably just 2 turns. maybe even just 1 and a half. I want to keep the front of the vehicle pointed down a little. Its going to be my everyday vehicle for another year.

And I got the lifetime alignments at Firestone so no big deal on that. I just hate having to take the coilovers off. Installing it was such a pain.

why would you take them off? they adjust on the vehicle.
 
Cranking coilovers up does not change the stiffness, since Icon and most adjustable coilovers use a linear rate spring. If the rate is 650lb/in, it will take the same 650lb to compress the first inch, as it will to compress the last inch of travel of the spring. In short, cranking it up wont affect the stiffness
 
How about you try it? It's all subjective and the adjustability of coilovevers is the foundation of their beauty.

I think they meant "Take the weight of the vehicle off the coil overs", meaning that the suspension is uncompressed and "drooping" this way the coilovers are in a static position with only the resistance of the spring fighting you as you adjust them. It's the most common way I've seen and have adjusted coilovers.
