Ideal Slider Length

I'm looking to get some sliders built by a local TacomaWorld vendor and was wondering what length slider is ideal for our 4runners. Addicted is 68", 4x is 67" and CBI and Shrockworks don't have a length on their sites. I've heard 68" might be a little too long, but I trust the guys at Addicted.

I think 68" is what my Stubbs ones are too. I remember discussing with Richard Stubbs how he thought most sliders are actually too short. I know that when I compare mine to other 4Runner sliders like All-pro and I've seen some TG ones, that they don't cover even close to as much of the rocker panels as mine do. Longer the better, IMO as long as they dont interfere with the tire....

Yeah I had the TG that I got off craigslist and didn't like them. They didn't cover rocker panels all that well and looked blah. I know they would have done the job, but if I'm welding something onto my 4runner I want it to look good as well. I'll go with 68", but I won't be getting them till summer.

My 4x sliders measure 66" from tip to tail and I think it's a great length, but then again I'm not a hardcore crawler either.

I want to say the length from wheel well to wheel well is 70 inches. I'll measure it again tonight but i'm pretty sure it was 70 inches when i last measured. I think 66-68 inches would be perfect.

I have the Addicted Sliders and they are perfect IMHO. Run the whole length of the pinch weld and protect fully.

I need protection from my factory Toyota ball joints.

When I get sliders I want them to go right to the edge of the front wheel cut out so WHEN it lets go it will not cause any sheet metal to rip off or get damaged.

My vote...... as long as possible.

I believe 68" is perfect length and if not, 67" is as low as I'd want to go. I think lower than that and you're not getting your moneys worth. What I don't see is a whole lot of people running Savage sliders... 68" HREW with or w/out kickouts, 4 inner legs, & 4 gusseted outer legs for $325 shipped isn't a bad price.

I started with a base coat of blue implement paint then finished with some rustolium metallic charcoal. It offsets the Black paint really nice.

Well I'm one of the very few. I like how these sliders look with it's curves, plus they cover the entire length of the rocker panels being 68" long.
