I'm thinking about doing something with my fog lights. Maybe adding HID's. Anybody have any suggestions?

That depends if you really want FOG LIGHTS or are looking to use them for something other than what they are designed for.

True fog lights should be low wattage (55 watts is about as high as I'd go) and a warmer, more yellow color (my Hella Optilux are 2500K). HID's are typically too cool and bright to be of any real use as fog lights and do more to hinder visiblity in bad weather than help. Also, the stock housing has a reflector that supports the the fog light funtion by throwing a short, wide beam as opposed to driving lights that should have a reflector that throws a long, narrow beam.

But if you're looking to simply look "cool", by all means...

I'm looking to upgrade my fog lights too, I've heard the 3000k HIDs are cool but don't know how yellow/functional they are

here are some www.retro-sloutions.com hid, these are 9006 2000k 35watt digital hid

Well driving conditions where i live are never really hazardous. We get fog sometimes but its never horribly thick. So, some HID's might be cool.

Fo_Sheezy do you have any pictures at night?

I did sylvanya silver star ultras for high and low beams and some lumincs yellow bulbs in the fogs and it looks cool and is functional. it cost me about 140.00 for the 3 sets of bulbs.

Hmm that seems like a good idea too. I like the look of it as well. Do you have any pictures looking at the front of the truck at night?

No I wish I did because I am deployed to the desert right now but I will be home this week and can take a couple for you if you would like. I wanted something different too and didn't feel like trying to wire in hids it wasn't to pricey and it looks pretty sweet coming down the road now.

I have to look into it some more, but I have to do a little bit of wiring so I can have the fog light DRL + my amber DRL's. When i'm done i'll definitely post pictures.

2 words, get them.

what do you mean? i just use the stock foglight switch next to the headlight switch... HID's wire into the factory sockets so there is no need to rewire and make an aftermarket switch, if that helps bobbyavidity...

i know everyone say no to the cheap ebay kits, but i had no problem with them. i paid 140$ total from an ebay seller named choi-q. if u want i can send you the link?
