Idle High after valve cover gasket replacement

97 Limited 240K auto

The idle problem I'm having seems to be the opposite of everybody elses I found during my search. At start up my idle is low, 600rpm, after warm up idle while in drive is around 1000 and idle in park is 1800. No idea what's going on here. MAF and throttle body cleaned today and it's the same. I checked the tension on the throttle/transmission/cruise control cables and they are good. Any ideas?

My first reaction would be vacuum leak. Chances are you either put a hose back on the wrong port, or didn't put a hose on period. Usually a vacuum leak will surface as a rough idle or low idle but you never know.
