Idle speed question

Ok so recently the idle on my 94' seems to be to high. It goes anywhere from 1500 to almost 2k and then drops down to 1100 or so. Im thinking that it is my TPS sensor gone boad. Has anyone else had this issue and if so how tough is it to replace that sensor?:awais:

There is a fault diagnosis system in the car, unless it's been removed, hehe. I'd go check that out.

But then again, it could be the TPS, it could be worn out. The ECU diagnosis should tell wether it's okay or not. Also, it could be the ignition system.

so how would you begin to trouble shoot those things? I dont have a computer to pull the codes is there a way make it so you can make a light in the dash blink the code out? Also do you know what the standard idle speed for the 3.0 is?

Hmm, it isn't the same as in the '90 runners?
I thought there was this diagnosis box in the hood.
I can't remember ATM what procedure would be used to make it blink, but I have a repair book here somewhere. Otherwise there should be some how to on the internet.

A normal idle speed is about 750-850rpm
(that's what the repair manual says about it at least...)
