Idling issues

The truck idles really high whenever I'm in park or neutral. It idles about 1500 when it is in gear. Just put a new throttle body on it hoping it fix the problem. The problem just got worse. What do you think the problem is?

The idle air control valve may be stuck open. Its on the underside of the TB. With the plastic intake tube off, squirt some carb cleaner in the holes in front of throttle plate. Then quickly try to start the engine. It will fire up and die. Do it 3-4x then connect the plastic intake tube and try starting it again. This process should suck the cleaner and carbon off the IAC pintle and free it to move again.

your throttle cable is either too tight, your IAC is dirty/stuck.
IAC is attached to the bottom of your throttle body and has a rubber gasket in between that WILL need to be replaced if pulled apart.
After pulling them apart you can try and clean the IAC by using throttle body cleaner.

But first, check your cable might just be on the tight side.
matter or untwisting it <5 minute job.
