If K02s are so popular, why doesn't anyone have them in stock?

Can't keep them on the shelf? I don't know if the sizes for the 4Runner are odd or not. I went to 4WP, had them in stock and mounted up. They had the lowest price in town which was nice.
Just an idea.. but maybe they aren't as popular as we think. I would have to imagine that for every one person interested in KO2s, there has to be another 10 or 20 people who need tires for their Prius or sienna...
Special order isn't always bad.. a lot of times this just means a local distributor can have them delivered within 24 hours..

4wheelparts shipped mine for free to me, 2 days after I ordered they were at my door. I saved hundreds of dollars over all three of my local shops. One being $600 more than what I ordered them for.
$54 bucks Costco charged to mount/balance. Sorry, try to give my local businesses the shot but saving $300-600 was a no brainer.:becky:

No one said they're the most popular tire in general but they're very popular in the SUV/truck market. And please don't mistake my use of SUV for CUV.

Was that for 4 or 5 tires? I would assume you'd want the 5th for the spare, otherwise it might look kinda goofy if you get a flat and have to roll with a non-AT.

I have never had a flat tire, 22 years of driving (knock on wood). I carry a plug kit and pump. If it's bad enough that I can't fix it, I don't care if I have to use my wimpy spare on a junk wheel, a new tire will get put on asap. Yet another reason for running the heavier duty e rated tires as well.
Now if I had a swing out carrier and wanted to look cool, yes a spare and matching wheel would be sweet. This my opinion of course so...do as you see fit.

If one is running a stock size, then a matching spare isn't as big of a deal, since the tires are the same circumference from the factory (theoretically) .....
Now, place yourself a few hours outside of any decent size town in the West, that may not have a chain tire store, you've upsized and you are 12 hours from home or you have ? days on your road trip... A matching full size spare can be a big deal.... And lets say you have a unique size like me... 34x10.5x17.... its going to be a special order item and you better off getting home and special ordering again on your time line since you had a matching spare...
