There is one for sale in Houston. This isn't my T4R, but at $4,000 I think this is a deal. The owner states that the price is negotiable. It has a ton of miles, but he states that it has been meticulously maintained.

Just noticed that this is a 4-cylinder, so it may not appeal for those looking for a 3.4. I don't know about an e-locker or other details.

From the ad you already know that you are not going to have to spend $4,000. My guess is that you would be able to get this for between $3,000 and $3,500.

I think that anytime you can buy a running 4Runner in good mechanical condition (and straight body panels, no rust, etc.) for between $3,500 and $4,000 it is a decent deal. There is a price floor for these cars that is probably between $3,000 to $3,500. Less than that and I don't think that you can buy something that both runs and looks good.

Between the aftermarket head unit, new tires, new brakes and the other recent maintenance items it appears that this guy has spent well over $1,500. So if you can buy this for $3,500 (and you would have spent the money on the same things this guy did) you are really getting a $2,000 runner.

I may be in the minority, but condition and quality are more important to me than mileage. I have seen 4Runners with 125,000 miles that have been ragged out, look like crap, and are not worth owning. I would rather buy a high mileage vehicle that looks like this.

Not to threadjack but here is another good deal. I think? I called the guy and he seems very flexible on the price. I was going to offer $1200. 240k miles, e locked. He said he commutes everyday in it and everything works including elocker. I should buy it for the elocker and spare parts for my '98. But alas, I'm broke.

If you want to spend around $8,000 you can get this one with a 2nd generation supercharger. Houston is a great city to buy any vehicle.

There's obviously a crossroads between mileage and condition. USUALLY if they have low miles it means that they are ragged on and look good. I'm at a 5k threshold and want a 4x4 with under 180k miles with proof of maintenance. It seems to be a tall order but maybe prices will drop come winter. They should have never even made a 4x2 4runner...it's sacrilege I tell ya.

I get a kick of what some people think their crap is worth.
