If you could change one thing . . .

If you could change one thing about your 4Runner, what would it be?

For me, it'd be a manual transmission. I hate autos. :(

That's the only thing I really miss about my '99 4Runner.

A third row seat possibility for the Sport, for the occasions when I have more than my own kids.

Reposition the Window/door Lock Buttons. I hate how they are so low and out of place.

2nd thing would be to get rid of the cheesey plastic running boards. Lets get some bent tube style ones!

Problem is...

The problem is that you guys bought the wrong generation 4Runner! :xnuts:

Whomever decided to put those silver rear/front center pieces on the black rigs along with the running boards and roof rack the same color should be shot! The 4th genners would look much better monochromatic IMO, escpecially the black ones! :D

Only one thig...

Okay, one function: I would make both the drivers side AND the passenger window automatic up/down (one push).

One apperance: get rid of that silver trim around the dash on the Limited model.

One comfort: Move the rear seats back just a few more inches. Most adults that get into the back say that it's just a bit tighter back there than my wife's Passat as far as footroom is concerned.

I'd prefer they fix the mpg readout. Everything else is perfect except that one item. Why they continue to show a 10% difference is beyond me.

I would change the paint, and put some paint on there that would actually stay and wouldn't chip so bad.

That's strange. The black paint on mine has chipped less than any other car I've had.

This is one thing I don't understand. A buddy of mine has a '98 limited. He only had the auto up/down on the driver's side. My '99 had it for both the driver's side and passenger's side.

For some reason, they took that feature away. Now, they did add some nice features. The rear window is now auto up/down, and so is the sunroof.

I HATED the closing of the sunroof in my '99. You HAD to hold in the button, and it would stop half way as a manual pinch protection. Ok, if someone is standing with their head out the sunroof, and you are holding the stupid button down, and don't realize there's someone there, then you've got more problems that a pinch protection won't fix.

So, it's nice that they did add these features on the rear window and sunroof, but it really sucks they took it away on the passenger side. :(
